Andre Wang officially won the Republican nomination for Oregon state representative in House District 50 on Tuesday, May 18, 2010, in an uncontested primary election.

With more than 2,300 votes, Wang also received the highest number of votes of any 2010 house Republican primary candidate in Multnomah County. He faces incumbent Greg Matthews in the general election on Nov. 2.

“I’m honored to be the Republican nominee,” Wang said. “Moreover, I’m humbled to be part of the most impressive slate of legislative candidates Oregon has seen in years.”

The nomination secured, Wang is moving ahead with his message of fiscal discipline and restoring a business-friendly climate in Oregon by continuing to meet directly with voters at community events and at their doorsteps. As the general election heats up, Wang’s campaign will host a number of fund raising and voter-contact events.

Please share your thoughts and ideas with me on life in Gresham . . . and Oregon. See you on the campaign trail!
